Fall Fundraising Opportunity & Adoption Update
Hey friends and family!
J. and I wanted to give an update on our adoption journey so far. Unfortunately, just like in our May update, we are still working on getting an approved home study. The reason this has taken so long is because we had to wait for the state to do our background checks, BUT they are finally in, and our social worker is now writing up our study! From there it has to go through a couple of channels of approval, but we are almost a step closer to being able to start the matching process.
Honestly, this process has taken longer than expected—even longer than most “worst case” scenarios that we saw, but we are not discouraged. J. and I have enjoyed a break from the adoption process over the summer. Between the historic floods that hit Vermont, summer church events, my switching jobs, and travel in between, we were thankful to be able to concentrate on our community and have some fun along the way.
Fundraising Opportunity
With that said, we do have an exciting fundraising opportunity coming up. As fall approaches (and with it, holiday cards!), I am offering my photography services on a donation basis. If you, or someone you know, is looking to get some photos done, I’d love to help! I am happy to photograph anything from family photos, to a photo of you and your seven dogs (yes, that was a super fun shoot!), and *almost* anything in between. Unfortunately, because of my work schedule, I cannot offer this to people outside our region, but I am happy to travel around New England and Upstate NY if you are interested! You can view my work on my personal portfolio, and you can find more information on our fundraising on our donation page.
Also, if you have enjoyed your 2023 calendar this year, we will be releasing a 2024 calendar soon. We will post more details to come in a few weeks.
All the best,
J., Mary, and Granger!
